Corrosive Nights

1

The flashes of amber inside the enviro-helm of third steersman Ronalt Wiese indicated the area he currently found himself in was slightly less toxic than the stella-freighter graveyard he had just left. He stopped to catch his breath against a large water tank which had long since disgorged its contents from an uncapped vent, into the scrap metal beneath his feet. Listening alertly, he heard no sign of the snipping metal sounds that followed him into sleep the following night.

Ronalt looked up at the lighter brown smudge which was all that he could make out of that systems sun in the umber sky. It was hovering over a large industrial manufactorum sector to the west, which meant it would soon be dark. He climbed inside the water tank which Ad-crete lined roof looked like it could shield him from the worst of the corrosive rainfall that always seemed to fall at twilight on this blighted forgeworld. As its scuttling inhabitants left the dry tank Ronalt settled into the driest corner and tried to sleep.

Ronalt woke to the industrial sounds and daemonic howls of the manufactorum firing up to work. So horrific were the barks, shrieks and sirens that he curled up into a foetal position and wept in despair.

Nearly an hour passed. As the slow descent of the young steermans heart finally seemed to draw to an end, a new sound filled his ears and silenced his breath. It was the sound of dissonant marching feet moving towards him from the direction of the stella-freighter graveyard.

  3. Very cool, like Necron Zombies. You could play either rules, Mechanicus or Necron... Breachers could be Destroyers, Dunecrawlers Triarch Stalkers...

    1. Thank you Siph. I like the idea of multi-use models. Im really enjoying playing the "new army" on the block at the moment. But I suppose Necron Allies (Come the Apoc?) would be cool.

Im building a fallen forgeworld so I really need some deamon engines first though.
