Dark Eldar Talos Conversion

Talos
Talos Conversion

The brothers Grimm are coming...........

My Dark eldar talos conversion is complete. I have seen a few kit bashes around the web using the new storm fiend box set as a base for some nice talos conversions and decided to make my own.

I want to run the corpse thief claw formation with my harlequin carnival, and wanted 3 more talos to run with my other two Inhave already converted. Because they were plastic I jumped at the chance to order a box (and being my bday I had a bit of spare change, although I got told off by my partner for 'buying more toys again' :D) and have been working on some conversions for a couple of weeks now. Here is the first one I have finished.

"Hands off me beach ball Roight?"

He was inspired by Jeff Vader's awesome work over at the convertorum, and his slaaneshi conversion for the Iron sleet invitational. Of course I had to add a little carnival flare to my hulking brute, and the pose of the torso really lent itself to a more leaning and threatening stance. I decided to knock up a beach ball and for him to be leaning on it, as if he had just stepped off from running on it or kicking it. I made a few additions to the back of him, with some tubing and a plastic star as his power pack, and added a meaty buzz saw to the one arm and a talos claw to the other. A few bits and bobs later and he is all ready to start beating some joy into a hapless victim.

I am incredibly pleased with how this conversion has turned out. It has an extremely sinister and menacing tone, but with just that added touch of lightness and humour that makes it fit into my carnival nicely.

What do you think of him? Does he fit into La Danse Macabre?

NafNaf out!

    1. Thanks :). I enjoy thinking them up and converting them immensely. I am a bit blue about 40k right now, but the hobby side never pales for me, and creating stuff like this is very satisfying for me as a hobbyist. Whatever you or I think of GW's game they sure do create some wonderful minis and opportunities to convert them that exists in no other game :)

    1. Cheers Thor :). It is great to be able to immerse myself in a theme, and the carnival really gets the hobby juices flowing. It will never be finished but the process is thoroughly enjoyable.
