Dropzone Commander Shaltari Test Paint Scheme

Ive got about 1500 points of Shaltari to paint to for the excellent Dropzone Commander, having tried out six or seven combinations on old minis and junk from my bits box I decided to go for the following:

The scheme is based on the Aztec tribe from the core rule book, but is a little darker with a bit more contrast between the hull and vanes. So far I've only painted three models to get a feel for the 10mm scale (not painted this small a scale since the days of epic) and the scheme as I just can't make my mind up on this one, what do you think?

  1. I don't know what they are supposed to look like, but I love the detail you've gotten at this scale!

  2. I really like your scheme dude. The blue contrasts very nicely with the red and stark white on the wings. Such a great game too

  3. been struggling with paint scheme ideas myself recently. I like what you did since most people do such bright schemes for Shaltari

    1. I also really struggled with a colour scheme for these, I wanted to keep a bright element in the paint scheme, but not have a whole really brightly painted model/army. So I settled on creating a contrast, from the midnight blue colour to a really stark red on the vanes.
