Dark Eldar Medusae conversion

I have been thinking about expanding my court of the archon for a little while now, what with the completion of my fat slyth conversions, and was ruminating in particular about the medusae.

Now in the fluff these are brainlike leeches, that attach to their victims and take over their bodies. In game terms they spew out a st4 ap3 flamer, which is pretty lethal in the right circumstances.

I started with one of my fave gw clampack models, the wraith. It exudes such menace that I felt it fit the bill of a spooky brainlike alien creature perfectly. I added a talos arm and tentacle as the fleshy part of the body, and used agonisers for the tendrils. I still wanted to keep the brain element of the conversion, so press moulded one of my mars attacks dreadball mini's heads and used this for the face/brain. Overall the impression is quite flesshy, which I like :). Once all this was done I then added the mechanical creepy arms, and plumbed in the promethian tank on his back, to represent the fluids the alien creature spews out (which is why he also has a tongue ;) )

Quite pleased with how this has turned out. A nice mix between the mechanical warped creations of the haemonculus, and a creepy sci fi alien from the classic films. Now the challenge is to paint him in a carnival style :D

Stay tuned for a other conversion I have coming up soon. It is quite fun ;)

NafNaf out!

    CLOWNS STABBING INTO THE DARKNESS!

That model gives me shudders with how wicked terrifying it is. Little reminder to behave or the court will get you.
