I subscribed quite a few months ago to mantic's latest kickstarter for a mars attacks dreadball team, and when I got home saturday a lovely surprise was waiting on my doorstep. I thought I would show a few pics of them for y'all as I am quite excited by them, and I think they are nice sculpts.
First of all you will notice that they are red in colour. They are actually made out of a hard plastic (like army men type of plastic) unlike the usual horrible restic material that Mantic casts its other stuff in. I have tried scraping the mould lines off (and there are not many yay!) and it is not as easy a process as the usual gw plastic models are, but a much greater improvement over their usual fare.
In the pack you get 10 figures. 4 jacks, 2 strikers, 2 guards and 2 prone figures. Also included are the cool little helmets that can be glued on after painting to get the famous mars attack dome. I am excited to get some paint on these chaps, and have 'it will not die' crush me as usual on the pitch. One little niggle I have with this kit though is THERE ARE NO RULES! I want to get paying asap but nowhere are there rules for my new dreadball team. Sheesh seriously Mantic!
